'Like many Zimbabwean businesses, my journey did not begin in a boardroom. It began with hard work, practical skills, and a willingness to take opportunities when they appeared.

I was born in the UK and moved to Zimbabwe as a child. After school at Plumtree School, I was never someone who followed a traditional academic path. Instead, I enjoyed working with my hands and building things. That passion led me to start Adhart Industries in 1994, manufacturing pine furniture for export from a small workshop on my father-in-law’s farm in Norton.

As the furniture business grew, I noticed something important — large amounts of timber offcuts were being wasted. Rather than throw them away, I saw an opportunity. Those offcuts became broom handles, and that simple idea eventually led to the purchase and growth of Mr Bristle.

Over the years, Mr Bristle has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s leading brushware manufacturers, supplying homes, retailers, industries, and institutions across the country. What has never changed is our focus on producing durable, dependable, reliable products that are built to work.

Alongside Mr Bristle, I have also been involved in property development, tobacco processing, aviation, and retail projects, but manufacturing remains close to my heart. There is something deeply rewarding about creating products locally, employing Zimbabweans, and building businesses that stand the test of time.

Today, Mr Bristle continues to grow through innovation, resilience, and a belief that Zimbabwean manufacturing can compete with the very best.'
